@jd131111 Unfortunately, it’s just AR, augmented reality. It doesn’t allow you to create experiences for people with actual VR headsets but it does let you do stuff like place a model in real life using your camera (or do like face filters).
Here’s an example from the creator of CreatiCode:

@jeffreyrb03-gmail It says 3D Ar/Vr though. What does that mean? Same thing?

AR is overlaying objects on top of the camera view, while VR is seeing entire virtual worlds and nothing from the camera.

Currently, we only have AR blocks but we plan to expand to VR. It is just that VR requires special devices so they are not widely available yet.

@info-creaticode Ah, I have a VR of my own, (Meta Quest 2) and I was going to use it to make a simple game to test in Sidequest / SteamVR 🙂

@jd131111 hypothetically you could link the camera to your pc, since all vr headsets need cameras to make the movement work (pretty sure, Idk if motion detectors are that accurate though ig your phone can detect full pitch yaw and rot, and it seemed pretty accurate when I tried mine) so maybe there’s an app that’ll let you do that?

@tyller_ Maybe, you would need the extension for motion pull, etc. (it costs like 110 bucks to buy the programs 😭)

@jd131111 well no, with vr your headset either does a lot of computing for the cameras, and/or has yaw pitch rolll sensors like your phone does

That’s correct depending on a few factors.

The Oculus Quest 2 has cameras to look for your hand tracking/controllers, as well as yaw/pitch/roll.

It would take a ton of code to determine the headset you use, what it’s capable of, and a lot more, like modeling the controllers, hands (if hand tracking is accessible), and a few more key factors.

@c hands would be very hard, I can think of a hypothetical where a browser extension sets data or what I have thought about for controller integration (or scuffed really) a program (or ig extension would be easier to more specifically spoof) moves your mouse to a mouse x / mosue y position based on controller rotations and presses keys for key presses, then a sort of library sprite that interprets this, Ig an browser extension would be best for this sort of thing (if it was ever made) since it could spoof decimal values for mouse x mouse y

You know, 1st person CreatiCode VR games isn’t a bad idea… I might try to build an open-source version. Not in school, of course…
