Instead of revealing the users email address when you log in, can you guys allow them to create a username for that purpose?
@cattyplayzy oh yeah, i mean just look at my username, somebody can easily figure out that “jeffreyrb03-gmail” is my email but slightly truncated, and then they can spam my inbox with scams and stuff (which I get quite a lot like emails meant to scam old people with fake free insurance or whatever). I think you guys really should implement this

You can make it not do that by going to Edit Profile, click Change Picture, click Save Settings without changing anything, then you can click Change Username.User not in use.

You can already change the full name that’s displayed, and your email is hidden as well. So change change are you proposing?

@info-creaticode they’re talking about the username block because it uses your email as part of it, obviously it shouldn’t be changeable but maybe how it assigns future usernames could be changed to not include emails

For the coding platform, we will allow users to change their username.

On the main CC website. It automatically sets your username to your email address. It’s a serious safety risk for that to happen. -
@info-creaticode Don’t allow people to change what shows to the username block, if I was for example making a game and wanted it so only, I can do developer debugging stuff that others could abuse, my only method now would be to hide a method via not sharing the project and use a read url block for example, currently all you can change is what it outputs in the full name block, which is okay, but unless you add a user id block then you shouldn’t be able to change the outputs of the username block

mentioning the coding platform, currently all you can change in the coding platform is what the full name block outputs, which would be your display name, since they said they will allow, not already exists, they would let you change the output of the username block, and as long as they add another way to specifically ID a user that doesn’t change then it would be fine, but that way doesn’t exist right now
