What options have you guys added recently, apparently there’s now a python mode and the collaboration part became more defined? I also seen a difference in uploading projects where the moderater is now faster or was removed .

Feature Request: Dynamic Dropdown Parameters and Input Types for My Blocks

Overview

I’d like to suggest expanding My Blocks with more flexible parameter types, including dynamic dropdown parameters and different parameter shapes that can be plugged into other blocks.

1. Dynamic Dropdown Parameters

It would be useful if a My Block parameter could use a dropdown whose options are automatically generated from a project list or another dynamic source.

For example:

Export Costume [Costume Name ▼]

The dropdown could automatically contain all of the costumes available in the project. If a costume is added, renamed, or removed, the available options could update automatically.

This could potentially work with:

• Costumes
• Sprites
• Sounds
• Backdrops
• Variables
• Lists
• Other project-specific resources

This would reduce repetitive typing and help prevent naming or spelling errors.

2. Multiple Parameter Variants

I’d also like to suggest allowing users to choose different parameter/input types when creating a My Block.

For example, instead of every parameter being a basic text input, CreatiCode could provide variants such as:

• Text-shaped parameter — for names, messages, or other text
• Number-shaped parameter — for numerical values
• Boolean-shaped parameter — for true/false conditions
• Variable-shaped parameter — an input that can accept or reference a variable
• Dropdown-shaped parameter — for selecting from a predefined or dynamically generated list
• Project-element parameter — for selecting things such as costumes, sprites, sounds, or backdrops

The variable-shaped parameter would be especially useful because it could be plugged directly into compatible inputs, rather than requiring users to manually type a variable’s name.

For example, a custom block could have something like:

Set [Variable] to [Value]

where [Variable] is a variable-shaped input that behaves similarly to variable inputs elsewhere in the editor.

Why This Would Be Useful

Giving My Blocks different parameter types would make them feel more like native CreatiCode blocks instead of simply being blocks with text placeholders.

It would allow users to create more reusable and powerful custom blocks while maintaining the same visual and interactive experience as the rest of the editor.

I think combining dynamic dropdowns with different parameter shapes could make My Blocks significantly more flexible for both beginner projects and more advanced creations.

I’ve been thinking about something that could help CreatiCode feel more like its own platform: giving it a team of original characters.

CreatiCode already has a fun and creative atmosphere, but some of the recognizable characters connected to it still come from Scratch. Scratch Cat was replaced, but Pico, Nano, and other Scratch-related characters or elements are still around. I don’t think they all need to be removed, but I do think CreatiCode could slowly create its own cast of characters that people immediately associate with CreatiCode.

Instead of having only one mascot, CreatiCode could have a small team, with each character having their own design, personality, interests, and role.

For example, one character could be interested in programming and logic, another could focus on animation, another could enjoy 3D creation, another could be connected to games, and another could be interested in AI. There could also be a more chaotic or funny character who represents the creativity and randomness of the community.

They wouldn’t have to be limited to one feature or act like walking advertisements for a specific tool. Their interests could overlap, and their personalities could be what makes them memorable. One could be serious and organized, another could constantly experiment with new ideas, another could be competitive, and another could be the one who causes funny problems for everyone else.

The characters could also be useful for more than just being mascots.

They could appear in tutorials, example projects, official animations, announcements, game jams, UI illustrations, and other CreatiCode content. A tutorial could show one character having trouble understanding a programming concept while another explains it. They could work together to build a game, create an animation, or solve a problem. That would make tutorials feel more lively instead of being made up only of screenshots and instructions.

They could also interact with each other in small ways. Maybe they have running jokes, different opinions, or different ways of solving problems. One character might prefer making 3D projects while another prefers simple games. Another might keep trying to add AI to everything. These details would make them feel like actual characters instead of a group of designs that only appear in the background.

The characters could be used for community events too.

If CreatiCode hosted a 3D game jam, one of the characters could introduce the event or appear in the official artwork. An animation contest could feature another character. An AI-related event could show one of them experimenting with AI. Different characters could be connected to different types of events, while still appearing together as a team.

This would give CreatiCode’s events a more consistent visual identity. Instead of every event looking completely separate, the characters could help make everything feel connected to the same platform and community.

They could also be useful for YouTube videos and short-form content. Rather than every official video being a direct demonstration of a feature, CreatiCode could use the characters in short stories, jokes, programming skits, animations, challenges, and demonstrations. The characters could get into funny situations while showing what CreatiCode can do.

That could help introduce people to CreatiCode without every video feeling like an advertisement. Someone might watch a short because the characters are funny or interesting, and then become curious about the platform itself.

I also don’t think CreatiCode would need to suddenly remove Pico, Nano, or every other existing Scratch-related element. The new characters could simply be introduced gradually and become CreatiCode’s main cast over time.

That would make the transition feel more natural. Existing characters could still appear in some places, while the new CreatiCode characters slowly become more common in official content, tutorials, events, and community projects.

Eventually, someone could see one of the characters and immediately think, “That’s CreatiCode.” Other creative platforms have recognizable mascots and visual symbols, so having a group of characters that belongs specifically to CreatiCode could make the platform easier to recognize.

The point wouldn’t just be to have cute characters. They could become symbols of the platform and its community. They could represent the different things people create on CreatiCode, while also giving the platform a personality that is separate from Scratch.

The characters could also be designed around what makes CreatiCode different. CreatiCode has 3D creation, more advanced tools, AI-related features, and other capabilities, so its characters could reflect that wider range instead of copying the same mascot style as Scratch.

For example, the team could include characters who enjoy building 3D worlds, making games, creating animations, experimenting with AI, or combining different types of projects. Their designs could include details that connect to those interests, but they should still feel like characters first instead of just being feature icons.

The community could also be involved in creating them.

CreatiCode could hold a character design contest, let users suggest names and personalities, run polls, or host an event where people make their own versions of the characters. Users could create fan art, animations, games, or stories featuring them. This would make the characters feel less like something invented by the CreatiCode team alone and more like something the community helped shape.

Over time, CreatiCode could develop a small cast with different personalities, designs, relationships, jokes, and roles. They could have enough personality to feel memorable without needing a huge complicated lore universe.

There doesn’t need to be an enormous story behind everything. The characters just need to feel distinct enough that people can tell them apart and enjoy seeing them appear in different parts of CreatiCode.

I think this could help CreatiCode build a stronger identity while keeping the approachable and playful feeling that makes Scratch-style programming appealing.

Instead of CreatiCode being seen as just another Scratch-like platform, it could have its own characters, visuals, humor, and personality. Over time, those things could make people recognize CreatiCode immediately and feel more connected to its community.

I have an idea for a new NPC block/category: AI NPCs.

The current GPT/ChatGPT blocks are really useful for making NPCs, but creating a full NPC can take quite a lot of blocks and setup, especially if you want several NPCs in the same game. It can also mean making lots of AI requests, which could use up the available GPT usage pretty quickly.

What if CreatiCode had a dedicated NPC system that handled this automatically?

For example, blocks could be something like:

• create NPC [Bob] with personality [friendly merchant]
• ask NPC [Bob] [What do you think of this town?]
• NPC [Bob] says [response]
• set NPC [Bob] personality to
• NPC [Bob] remembers [...]
• remove NPC [Bob]

The important part would be that the NPC system could manage multiple NPCs without requiring users to individually build all the GPT logic themselves.

There could also be an NPC memory/context system, so each NPC only keeps the information it actually needs instead of sending a huge conversation history every time.

For games with lots of NPCs, it could also have an option for lightweight NPCs that use predefined personalities, dialogue rules, and game variables most of the time, while only calling GPT when the player asks something the NPC doesn’t already have an answer for.

That would make it much easier to create RPGs, towns, simulators, multiplayer games, and other projects with lots of characters.

Basically: instead of every NPC being a separate complicated GPT setup, CreatiCode could provide a reusable NPC engine that manages the AI, personality, memory, dialogue, and multiple characters behind the scenes.

I think this could make AI NPCs much more accessible to people who don’t want to build the entire system themselves.

I saw this extension on penguin mod (since you can import extensions to creaticode) and I saw this math powered animator, it was difficult to use so that’s what made me pitch this

in the costume editor, could we add an animation editor? it could have tweens and frame by frame animation, animation is already possible but it could be efficient!, and each animation could be treated as its own costume! i even know a website it could be based on, the site is called the wick editor and if you go on the forums, you can see fork/mods of it!
