After a model is uploaded, the only thing I can do is change the title and its visibility. However, what if you want to do other things like change the description or attribution or license or preview or even replacing the model file with a new/modified one? Like oops, uploaded a car instead of an airplane, sorta mistake. To do something like that you have to delete the uploaded model, and remake it, which is a bit of a pain sometimes because if you have a big description and you didn’t save it then you have to write all that all over again.

Also, there could also be social interaction features/counters, hearts on your model (and shows how many people liked it), a report button to report inappropriate models, a way to save/bookmark certain models, and how many people are currently using your model.
(Out of the social interaction features I’d say a report button is most needed/urgent.)

Also it is a bit inconvienient how the model preview automatically spins and it’s just spontaneous and uncontrollable. For instance, in the picture above you can see just the back of Batman, but usually with a character you want to show the front or something. It would be good if it would still spin around, but when uploading the model it’s still so that you can control what view of it is shown.

And one last thing, this block doesn’t work and loads forever (no matter which avatar you chose):

I just use the community model thing as an alternative for characters but I’m assuming that this block is more suited for custom characters, which is a bit of a bummer that it doesn’t work, but hey I really enjoy the list of avatars in the normal avatar block, since they have the cute Chibi style that I like, so its fine. I’m not sure, but it looks like this block would just make it so stuff supports animations (like walk and run), but normal avatars and community models already do that, so this block may be a bit useless.

@jeffreyrb03-gmail @info-creaticode , I also want to add that the categories are very limited since they don’t have things like weapons or fashion or electronics or places. I think that they should be replaced with user defined tags, and those categories will still be there but as tags instead: 9d153a59-030a-49ec-be19-1a057bb6794d-image.png .

And also what if you guys implement the Sketchfab API inside the workspace to choose models? Basically, it would allow you to pick a model that exists on Sketchfab.com directly and then it’ll just load it’s either glb or gltf file straight into the project. Of course if there’s a setting you guys would need to disable being able to use models marked as Explicit, but it would save a lot of time and storage because I spend a lot of time downloading the models I want and then uploading them to CreatiCode, so it would be awesome if I don’t even have to download it and CreatiCode just gets it for you upon request.

        Please see our comments below:

        1. We can make the preview draggable, and add the option to edit an existing model.
        2. we can add social features
        3. The “add user avatar” block is fixed now
        4. Add user avatar is different from adding community model in that it assumes the model is an avatar with human skeleton, so it supports all the animations.
        5. The categories are fixed as they are used as filters on top of the model library window. They are not that important, since most users simply search for models by name
        6. Sketchfab charges money for most of their models, so there is no API to allow our users to freely use their 3D models.
