    What are Blocks?

We use Blocks to tell a sprite “what to do”. Blocks can be joined together, just like LEGO pieces.

    Blocks Groups

To make it easier for you to find a block, similar blocks are grouped together, and each group has a different color. For example, all Motion blocks are blue.

    The Flyout

The Flyout holds blocks you can choose from. It will hide when you click anywhere in the Editor area.

If you want the Flyout window to stay open, click on the “Pin”.

Dragging a Block into an Empty Slot

To put a block inside an empty slot, you have to make sure its left ear is touching the slot.

    Removing a Block

There are 2 ways to remove a block. You can drag it to the dark garbage bin on the left.

You can also right-click the block, then select Delete.

    Undo and Redo

If you have made a mistake, you can right-click the editor, and select “undo” to cancel the last step.

If you used “undo” by mistake, you can select “redo” to repeat the last step again.

    Block Shapes (Advanced)

As you learn to use more blocks, you will find they come in 6 different shapes.

    1. Hat Blocks:

Hat Blocks are shaped like a “Hat”. You can only connect other blocks below them.

    2. Stack Blocks:

Stack Blocks can connect any block above or below, so you can form a stack of them.

    3. Boolean Blocks:

Boolean Blocks have triangle ears on the 2 sides. They can only be placed inside holes with similar shapes.

    4. Reporter Blocks:

Reporter blocks have rounded ears on the 2 sides, and they can only be placed in holes with similar shapes.

    5. C Blocks:

C blocks have a mouth that opens to the right, just like the letter C. You can place other blocks inside C blocks.

    6. Cap Blocks:

Cap blocks have flat bottoms. You can not connect any other block below them.
